This cooler design has Ghostbusters branding so it can be called an Ecto Cooler. Get it? Never mind. The Ghostbusters stuff is not important, it’s just decoration here. This cooler does something different, do read on.
It has a telescoping handle to drag this thing behind you like a suitcase. There are two side handles that latch onto the top cover, or could be used to carry this cooler. These are pretty common features.
Where this departs from the norm is the side handles fold down to help elevate this cooler off the ground:
That’s because the main feature of this cooler is a built-in water filter (like a Brita water filter) that would allow people to drink the melted ice. Is that gross? I honestly don’t know. Would be better than throwing the melted ice water out. The raised cooler allows easier dispensing.
The filter is interchangeable like those Brita filters. Given that coolers are seldom used, I would just borrow one from the pitcher in the fridge when heading out to the beach.
Filter aside, this thing could be filled up with water or Gatorade and used as a drink dispenser for a group of people. The handle system would come in handy if there’s no table or raised surface nearby to park this on.
Brilliant idea! Could the have some kind of latching cover to keep the spout clean?
I did consider that, was worried about having a small part that could be lost or knocked off. If this ever became a thing I would recommend a cover of some sort, or a detachable spout.
