Unwanted Toys Part 2: Ghostbusters Firehouse Blu-Ray Set
Unwanted Toys is a series of package concepts I made for a now-shuttered European company that specialized in high-end media packaging.
This one started as one of my designs I made last year, and was re-done to make it a (fake) leather-bound embossed case — like a book. It included an LED sign that pegged onto the front, which was stored in a movie case for shipping and display.
I initially wanted the movies to lay on the spine to afford the Firehouse its familiar dimensions, but in the end I saw the potential of how this would look on the shelf. It would look great with the rest of your movie library, or as a bookend even.
This was pitched to Sony as the potential case for a Ghostbusters Trilogy, hence the 3 films and 2 special features discs. While I am told that Sony really liked it, obviously nothing came of it. With the middleman now dead Sony is still more than welcome to use this design, if and when Ghostbusters 3 ever gets made.

I think this would also be great for a release of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon series box set.
Evidently someone got some use out of your designs
time code didn’t work. skip to 11minutes, 36seconds in.
That one preceded my design by a few years. I referenced it in the original design post: http://davesgeekyideas.com/2010/12/12/ghostbusters-blu-ray-case/
It was a coincidence on my part.
I wish they didn’t put the building profiles within the case art, separating all the walls. Looks weird. Still, seeing it in a video it looks nicer than I imagined.
