Avengers Collection Blu-Ray Case

This is a case designed to hold a plethora of Marvel films that constitute The Avengers, both the team and their respective solo outings. It is based on the Helicarrier, which is the Avengers and SHIELD’s flying fortress (I’m sure you knew that).

This massive case is designed to hold at least 30 discs. Adding more trays to the main hull can grow that number to 50. Enough room for all your Marvel superhero movies (though I’d prefer something like this instead).

This is a really basic version of the Helicarrier. If I had more reference I could go to town making it look more authentic, but this should give you the rough idea. I feel like Doc Brown apologizing that it is not to scale.

One feature would be removable “wings”, which would act like individual cases. Very handy not just for everyday use, but it would make for smaller packaging if this became a product. Wouldn’t want a huge box hogging up all the shelf space at Best Buy.

Speaking of the size, I know it’s pretty big (the biggest I designed), but it’s not completely out of reason. I estimate 26″ long, 16″ wingspan, and 12″ tall.

This is a case designed to hold all current and future Avenger films. But what really bums me out for these films and other franchises that appear to be here for the next several years (e.g. Game of Thrones), is that releases a few years from now might not be issued on Blu-Ray or DVD. It’ll be sort of weird to have an incomplete collection.

Ideally, I would just sell this with the lone Avengers film. That would keep the cost down and allow people to populate it with the other superhero films they already own. There is ample room for superhero video games, that is for sure.

    1. A slim chance. I know a few people in the packaged media biz, and they say most of my designs are way too expensive.

There is the odd release that can justify such a pricey case, like the recent Harry Potter chest case, or the Aliens head one from a few years ago.

The only way I see this happen is if a toy boutique like Matty Collector decided to issue this for collectors (minus all the discs).

    1. I’d say it has a few years left, maybe 5 tops. Currently packaged media sales are a shadow of their halcyon days of the late 90’s/early 00’s, and digital distribution is growing every year [citation needed].

  2. How do I get one?! Put me on the VIP list please so I can add it to the already cool movie room I have! So display a price already, just don’t break the bank

      1. http://www.indiegogo.com/ is international.

I think your stuff is amazing, and the more you can gain ground level support from us geeks, the more you can get into a position where you can make it regardless of some ‘big wig’ sitting in a corporate office saying “no”.

The Oatmeal raised enough for the Tesla Tower. You could certainly get some of these done.

  3. very great work, you´ve said the miniature-modell is too big . but if you work the material to a smaller miniature, for example wouldn´t it be less expensive. and more bankable for the market. and thousands of fans of marvel and -the avengers- movie would buy it, and normal dvd buyers too.

    1. Never called it a miniature! Also a lot of people are under the impression something like this has to be mass-produced, and that is not true. There are many premium collectibles available out there offered in limited runs. Not saying this would qualify, but you can’t rule out that distribution model either.

  4. have you got your own design-firm,and the machines to build your designs? or what is this. that looks professional made.

  5. Would you ever sell your creations to us (your fans) maybe on a website. Say you make a website for all your creations and sell them it would be awesome

    1. Sorry it’s just a design, I don’t make or sell these.

It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who has had a steady relationship with a boat. Happy Berth Day to her!

      1. Dave, I’m doing research for my SHIELD themed media room and found this. I was all excited until I read this is not real yet. If you are interested I have both the connections to Marvel and China to have this prototyped and produced. Please let me know if you would like me to make the connections for you. Very impressed. Plus I want one for my center piece of my media room. 😉

      2. I appreciate the offer! Unfortunately prototypes cost a lot of money, especially for bigger products like this. They did release a massive Helicarrier toy (to compliment 4″ action figures), so modifying that may be one way to go.

      3. Dave, Sorry I forgot to mention part of company creates prototypes. I guess that was a pretty important part of the discussion. We 3D print stuff like this that is at the concept phase. I would be very happy to front that cost.

  6. It is a type of situation that about 80Percent of grown ups may go through.
NSAID’s side effects can include gastro intestinal bleeding, so people with ulcers in their stomach and GI tract should not be taking them.
This is a very common cause of back pain means that many people do
