This is a more humorous entry in the Geek Bling series – a pair of earrings based on those vile Ceti Eels from Star Trek II The Wrath Of Khan. You know – those alien creatures that burrow into the ear and set up shop in the brain stem? Quaint little parasites.
I think the lady Trekkers out there can appreciate this design:

Wireless charging pads emerged onto the scene a few years ago, and they are a brilliant innovation. Merely place your compatible gadget on top the pad/mat, and it will recharge through osmosis (actually with electro-magnetic induction to be precise). A simple device you place under your TV to recreate the viewscreen lights seen under the main screen in Star Trek. Powered by USB, which all TVs have these days. It could emit Sound Effects like the pings heard on the show.
Thinkgeek kicked the tires on this one, but I don’t think they’ll be making it.
