Here is a Skytrain map which was inspired by actual maps I have seen in the trains and stations. I hope you enjoy it!

Great job, this map is super funny!
One nitpick though — the Canada Line crosses a river between Marine Drive and Bridgeport.
D’oh! I was using a map that looked like this: http://www.sfu.ca/cs/images/skytrainMap.jpg but had the Canada line. I want to swear up and down that is only showed the False Creek crossing, but I cannot find the map again!
Thanks for pointing that out. I will fix that eventually.
This is awesome. I will most likely print this out (once the correction is made) and put it near the door of my soon to be videogame restaurant and bar, EXP, right here in Vancouver. (http://www.expbar.ca)
I hope this is something you approve of! Stop on by when we open up in 2-3 months. :)
That would be great! Let me just make a few fixes, and I can give you a nicer version, instead of this Jpeg. A videogame-themed restaurant sounds intriguing.
Brilliant! Please throw me an email ( brian [dot] vidovic [at] gmail.com ) with the higher res version whenever you have a moment. Glad you are interested in EXP; we hope to take that intrigue and turn it into enthusiasm as the opening draws closer. :) Thanks in advance for the image and great work on this site! First round is on me!
That’s awesome. You should submit it to the art show that I run, 8-Bits of Destiny. http://www.8bitsofdestiny.com
Sure, I’ll see what I can do. Thanks!
Great work. Any PNG version?
Might do that. A JPEG was enlisted to bring the file size down from 6 to 1MB.
This is fantastic, man! Vancouver and Mario are my two favorite things.
This is sweet but umm one correction, you have the Braid and Sapperton stations mixed up.
D’oh! Fixing it. I left those two off the first version entirely. Thanks!
If you want it to really mimic the layout of theTranslinks maps you might think of adding the Seabus and West Coast Express links at Waterfront.
Haha maybe one day. I’ve re-done this map several times, so I’m content for the moment. I might do a high-res one for a poster one day, and would look at including those.
As a frequent WCE commuter I’d love it if you did an expanded one to include WCE and Seabus.
I love it though. I wonder if my wife would be ok with me having a print of this in our new place.
Perhaps in the next version. I’m putting together a poster purchase soon. I’ll see how that goes over, and if there is a lot of demand, I will do one with Seabus and WCE, possibly the B-lines too.
Holy crap. People are judgmental. HOnestly, this is the best use of a skytrain map that I’ve ever seen. Who cares if it’s not 100% true to life. It’s a SMB3 version of it and is for fun. Wicked job! Very cool idea and I love how the airport has a sewer tunnel to warp elsewhere. :) Great job!
Thanks Jackie! For all the geeky stuff I post I seldom have any complaints, which is extremely surprising. I don’t mind the odd tweak.
This is wicked awesome!
Dave, are you planning on selling t-shirts?
If yes I’ll buy one
If no,do you mind if I print one for when I’m on skytrain.
Also Brian of EXP bar, and Arkwolf of 8-bits of destiny, I’m totally psyched about both of your projects. It’s a good day to be a Vancouverite.
I can add this to a shirt in my Printfection store, but it might be too big a print. I’ll let you know!
You are more than welcome to print it. That’s why I made a large version. I’ve got one framed on my wall.
Just wanted to give you a heads-up that I featured your map on my blog (http://apocalypsepow.blogspot.com/2011/09/super-mario-bros-3-vancouver-skytrain.html). Outstanding work!
Very humorous write-up, thanks! Glad you like the Game of Thrones jerseys, hope to have another offering right after everyone receives their DireWolves jerseys.
This idea needs to go global. Toronto next!
Not exactly sure what that would entail. The TTC? GO Trains? Isn’t there a subway?
This would make a great April Fools joke! Translink gets a new map for the skytrain system
Hope it’s OK that I post your map on my website for international students coming to Vancouver to study (www.vanasia.ca). I think they’ll crack up as much as I did.
