Ghostbusters Blu-Ray Case

This is another idea I put on the backburner, and for a couple of reasons: I’ve already prescribed the Ghostbusters’ Firehouse as a PC Case, I’ve had this building on my blog too often already, and because this package was already released - sort of. They made a fancy case for the Real Ghostbusters box set:

There is something very weird about dubbing the cartoon version as "Real"

Not bad! I’m not liking the broken art at the edges of the building - or how the profile doesn’t match the face exactly. It is appropriate for the cartoon though.

My version is mostly the same. The box could be sitting on it’s side to incorporate the full building art (and be comparable in size to the real-life building), but I think it would look cooler like this, because it can then sit amongst your library nicely. Would make for a nice bookend too.

The building would be an outer sleeve with the windows punched out. An internal blue plastic case would hold all the discs. Admittedly, a package this size is overkill for 2 movies and a few special features discs, so I’d recommend including the aforementioned Real Ghostbusters (even the much-maligned Extreme Ghostbusters and Slimer! shows), and possibly a few soundtrack CD’s.

If this ever gets made, I’d make sure the sign is an LED light, powered by batteries (has a switch too). I’d also want the sign detachable, to ensure this thing doesn’t take up wasted volume when shipped - I’m a stickler for streamlined packaging! I’d also look at including an Ecto-1 car, and make the garage door able to open. Wouldn’t be the first time I prescribed a Blu-Ray case with a built-in toy.

Remember this is just a mockup. A finished product would look a lot better!
