Nadhir A.’s Vending Machine Sweeper Arm
Nadhir is from my old stomping grounds of Calgary Alberta, and sent in this practical idea that helps people who are dealing with stuck food in the vending machine. Basically, an internal stick that will dislodge items that become stuck:
When your purchase gets stuck, you can use the sweeping stick (A) which is mounted internally to rails at the top and bottom of the machine. You sweep the stick horizontally using a handle (B) that is placed externally. The stick has a few inches clearance from all the items. To prevent the stick from getting in the way of purchases, it would affixed to two arched rails, causing it to always be parked at either side and out of the way (C).
I think we can all relate to enduring an item that gets stuck. Many vending machines have suffered the wrath of angry customers. This solution is loooong overdue. No more hitting or tilting machines.
There is a risk someone could snag a freebee with the stick, so it might be worthwhile to have the stick locked in place until a purchase is made.
