Just a rehash of an old idea, but now the viewscreen lights are embedded into a soundbar (which are all the rage these days). It makes more sense in a few ways: many soundbars have small indicator lights to denote volume or input, and the soundbar’s location beneath the TV is an ideal placement for the viewscreen lights.
The lights would double as a volume indicator or equalizer. Sound effects from the bridge could also happen on demand via remote presses (or when the system fires up).
Somewhat related, but MSI recently released monitors with built-in RGB lights beneath the screen. You could almost do a viewscreen effect with them, unfortunately they only have 5 lights, well short of the 12 needed to do the trick.
5 lights? No!
THERE! ARE! FOUR! LIGHTS!
