This is an old design that I’m bringing over from my hockey blog. It is the hockey pad of my dreams! The centerpiece of the design is a floating entertainment unit that is mounted onto a wall (adorned with a crowd mural) that looks like an NHL scoreboard, this is where the TV sits.

Dr. Evil Streaming Remote
Do you like this quasi-futuristic remote I designed? It’s based on the device used by Dr. Evil to fire his employees. It’s intended to be a streaming remote, compatible with devices like the Roku or Chromecast. It enables users to fire up their preferred streaming service at the push of a button.
The one major change I made was the addition of a rotary joystick in the middle. It can be moved for navigating menus, pressed like a button, and rotated for volume control. This sort of input is common in cars with infotainment displays.
This remote sits on a coffee table, though it shouldn’t be too cumbersome to hold or place on your lap. It may need to be plugged into a PC or programmed from a smartphone app, much like a Logitech Harmony remote. It would come with numerous labels for all the streaming services, and it shouldn’t be too difficult to print your own if needed.
Nintendo Entertainment Center
This entertainment center is a copy of the ‘World of Nintendo’ display case that used to reside in video game stores back in the 90’s, minus the sliding glass on the front. It’s the ideal size for a flat panel display and some game consoles.
Bender Cigar Cutter
Here’s a guillotine cigar cutter concealed within Bender, a degenerate robot from Futurama. Thought about making his head into a lighter as well, but that might be too tough to implement.
Arrested Development Drink Coaster Set
You may not get Hop-Ons, but you’ll get plenty of guests with hop-filled beverages who will threaten the surfaces of your furniture. This set features a stack of coasters piled onto the back of the Bluth Stair Car.
Arrested Development season 5 debuts in a few weeks! Always nice to get a surprise like that on short notice. I hope they recapture the magic of seasons 1-3, season 4 was just okay (though still better than many other comedies nowadays).
Atari TV Design
Another 4:3 gaming TV design, this one Atari-themed. I thought about designing TV’s with consoles built-in, but then I remembered those awful TV/VCR (or DVD) combos from over a decade ago, so for now I think it’s best to just stick to vanilla TVs that require separate consoles.
A Modern 4:3 Display For Game Consoles of Yesterday
In my opinion there’s a potentially big market for a modern flat panel display that comes in a 4:3 aspect ratio. A display which is specifically intended to be used with retro gaming consoles or arcade cabinets.
