Cell Phone With Text Appeal Part 2
This is the second concept I mentioned in Part 1. This one features a whole bunch of analog sticks, much like what you’d find on a video game controller, that can be pressed for numbers and tilted for letters.
4 and 6 are tilted, 5 and 9 are pressed in.
Given the choice of the 2 designs, I would prefer this one. It has a nice ‘cradle’ shape to receive the button presses for numbers. It also should be very familiar for gamers too.
Either configuration would make for faster and efficient text entry.
Note: The model depicted above would have a more compacted button layout, as I made all of the buttons 4-way in movement, instead of mostly 3-way, as shown in the previous model.

What are you doing, sharing it with the world
you should probably patent this thing
Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve heard that!
Seeing as Microsoft and Sony use a similar analog stick configuration for their game controllers, this type of input isn’t patentable. Plus it wouldn’t be as appealing to manufacture.
If it does get made, and benefits a lot of people (myself included, because I’d buy this!), then it’s just another feather in my cap.
