I sent an e-mail on Friday (with today being Tuesday) to place a credit card order for the Zelda jersey, but I haven’t heard back. About how long should that take?
Rinkgear usually replies within a few business days. They have a “Don’t be Mr. Krabs” policy, where taking other people’s money is not a big priority.
As long as you send in an order by the deadline, you’re good to go. Both Rinkgear and I can get a little swamped at times, apologies!
No worries. Just wanted to have an idea.
But at the same time, that jersey needs to be mine.
It’s been over a week now and I haven’t heard anything from RinkGear. I get the “swamped” argument, but is this a normal time frame? With the deadline approaching, I’d kind of like to have my order at least acknowledged.
I’ve alerted RInkgear. They are usually a few business days, but this is too long, you are correct. Customers want assurances. Your order will processed soon.
Would it be better for me to place an entirely new order directly through PayPal? Would paying up-front make a difference?
That ensures your payment and order has been sent. Unfortunately no order confirmations are sent until a few days after the order deadline. You have a record of your Paypal transaction as proof until the confirmation arrives.
If you go that route, you might still receive the e-mail invoice from Rinkgear, which you can ignore (or just reply and say you paid by Paypal already).
It’s entirely up to you. I just emailed Rinkgear that you and a few others were eager to give them money.
I wish people were clamoring to give ME money. I wouldn’t make them wait!
PayPal order/payment sent. Just felt like having some kind of proof that an order was placed.
Apologies, but like I wrote in the order there isn’t much of the way in terms of automation. At least with Paypal you have a record and some protections in place (dispute process).
I’ll send a confirmation a few days after, but in the meantime I will ask Rinkgear to email you a confirmation of order and payment received. Thanks for your patience.
Any chance of a line of Geeky Soccer Jerseys?
The magic 8-ball just told me “Future is unclear”, sorry. In all honesty it’s not something I’ve given much thought to — hasn’t been much demand. I will investigate the possibility down the road.
just put in a order for the zelda jersey can’t wait
Just ordered a Zelda jersey, and have convinced a friend to order one too. I can’t wait till they’re ready.
If your friend lives in your city, you should try to get his/her order added to yours - will save you some coin on shipping. E-mail Rinkgear for arrangements.
He lives a few hundred miles away. Also I have yet to hear from Rinkgear. I’m not worried but I do think I’m going to switch my order over to Paypal too just to be safe.
Are goalie sizes available, or just skaters?
Just the skater sizes shown for now, sorry!
If I could I’d make room for goalie sizes and cut all the youth sizes. Darn rugrats! They don’t deserve stuff this cool. Reminds me of the time I saw a toddler with Air Jordan shoes — WHY?!
Hey Dave,
Will the TARDIS jersey be made available again at some point? I was looking to get it for my roommates birthday in August.
Maybe. I’m a little swamped with other orders currently. I suggest you stay tuned to my other site davesgeekyhockey.com, which will be handling all the hockey jersey stuff going forward.
Gah - just saw this stuff. I NEED A TARDIS JERSEY!!!
Nice job!
was just curious, when was the estimated finish date? i had thought i saw something about feb 14 but now i can’t find it, anybody know?
The order closed on January 21st (got extended a day), and they went into production on Monday January the 24th. They take 4 - 6 weeks to produce, so they’re about another 3 weeks until completion (at the latest).
I only just found out about the doctor who hockey jersey and would love to be added to a mailing list when another run of them is done so I can place an order
Sorry I can’t do mailing lists - too many people wanting particular items. Please tune in to the http://www.davesgeekyhockey.com website every few weeks and you might see it again one day (likely this spring sometime).
Will there ever be a return of the Doctor Who jersey?
Probably in May - check back at http://www.davesgeekyhockey.com for all jersey offers going forward.
If I have 10 or more people wanting to buy the Doctor Who jersey do you do special order requests for it? Or do we have to wait to see if its coming out again?
Yes, Rinkgear can arrange a team order for you if you order a minimum of 10. They would likely cost $65 - $75 each (Shipped! But must be all to one address). Email them to arrange a team order at [email protected]
