James Bond Car Cigarette Lighter Covers

James Bond Seat Eject Car Lighter Cover Dave Delisle 2013

This is pretty simple: a car lighter cover (or replacement car lighter plug) that looks like a whimsical button you’d see in a James Bond car. The button would be labelled “Passenger Seat Eject” or “Missiles” or “Machine Guns” or what have you. Personally I would go with the Seat Eject one to intimidate passengers. It being plugged-in the cigarette lighter this could also illuminate (repeatedly blinking on and off) for a more authentic look.

Much like my Spy Hunter car stereo design, I always thought it would be fun to add a bunch of fake buttons to the console of your car for that “double-0 agent” feel. Maybe something can be done along the lines of a USB charger that plugs into the lighter (I might have to tackle that design one day).

Updated Vancouver Skytrain Map – Super Mario 3 Style

Vancouver Skytrain Map 2013 Evergreen Line Future

A high-res poster is available here. Evergreen Line beyond Lougheed station is subject to change*.

Just for fun I thought I’d make a version with some animation. If you need accompanying music look no further.

*Both the Millenium and Evergreen Line could share the line between Lougheed and VCC-Clark, or that section could be exclusive to one of those aforementioned lines. I’m betting that both lines will share the route, with the Evergreen Line only using it during peak times.

Jurassic Park Plant Pots

Jurassic Park pot plant by davesgeekyideas

I feel that you can turn something as mundane as a plant pot into a geeky diorama, such as the Jurassic Park design above. You could add plastic dinosaurs for a more lively scene.

Another Jurassic Park design I wanted to post: a planter based on the Raptor paddock. I would’ve thrown together a concept for you but time is scarce for me these days.

I believe there is potential for other films/shows to be enlisted in this fashion (like Predator or LOST for use with tropical plants), it’s just a matter of fabricating a bunch of miniature props! Easier said than done.

Aliens Quadrilogy Blu-Ray Case

Aliens Blu-Ray case design by Dave Delisle davesgeekyideas

(Note: Updated April 12, 2014) As part of my recent blog cleanup, I have condensed this post to one image and a shorter write-up) Basically this case design uses the Armored Transport vehicle from Aliens to store all the films. The turret would slide to the back of the vehicle (just like it actually does in the film), allowing access to the cases.

For fun I think it would be cool to include a few Alien figures, so you can run them over just like Ripley did.

Star Trek Enterprise Blu-Ray Case

Star Trek blu-ray case by Dave Delisle

Here I was thinking I was so clever about this Star Trek┬áblu-ray case design, but then it turned out it was already made as an actual product (see below). Not sure how I arrived at something so similar. Usually I do some checking to see if it exists or not, and the official product didn’t show up on my radar.
