2 Very Cool Game Controllers

I’d like to file both of these amazing designs under why didn’t I think of that?

Above, the Chameleon X-1, a concept gaming mouse with a gamepad located at it’s base. Bloody genius. I have a few concerns, those being the unintended clicking of the mouse while you are using the gamepad, and all the grime the gamepad will receive during mouse operation, possibly some wear and tear too. Next up we have the HKS Racing Controller, which is pretty self-explanatory!

I love this design. The dial steering wheel and those pedal buttons! Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before? People could have sprung for these instead of those big ol’ clunky racing wheels. Plus it comes in the shape of Sony’s well-received Dualshock. You can read more about it here.

The one thing I would change: I’d make the dial wheel sit on an adjustable dial as well, so you can pivot the wheel placement. Currently it’s fixed to that 45-degree angle. Some may like the wheel sitting horizontally or vertically, maybe even set at the opposite diagonal angle. Besides that, very worthwhile.
