Hidden Hockey Rink Stadium

Hidden Hockey Rink by Dave Delisle

I’m a fan of the NHL’s outdoor games, but I feel that the viewing experience for fans in lower seats must be somewhat poor, despite being closest to the rink. If only the rink was sunken into the ground! Well now that there are football stadiums with grass fields that slide outside, that is a possibility.

Here is a design that can translate to any sport with playoffs: the bracket from the background of the All Valley Tournament, seen in the original The Karate Kid. The above depicts the upcoming 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. Go Flames Go.

Mini Budweiser Red Light

Budweiser’s Red Lights are awesome, I’m quite positive they are coveted by all hockey fans. I’ve yet to get one myself because I still use a dumbphone (the lights require an app), but one day, it will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

NHL ’94 Tabletop Hockey

I was recently looking over some old Coleco table hockey players, and had an idea: die-cut stickers (meaning no white backdrop) on clear plastic blades. This approach would not only look good for those Coleco players, but for pixelated players too.

Pro Sports Locker Hall Tree

A Hall Tree is a coat rack combined with a storage bench that is parked by the front door or in a mud room; here are some examples. I feel these Hall Trees could be made to look like player lockers from the pro leagues (NHL, NBA, NFL, etc.). The above design is based on the actual lockers belonging to the Calgary Flames, but you could do this with any pro team.

A New Spin On Tabletop Hockey

This is a combination of THREE hobbies I had when I was kid: tabletop hockey, hockey cards, and hockey sticker albums. I present a mini tabletop hockey set that is adorned with players and stickers found in hockey card packs. This sort of thing would only be possible if a tabletop manufacturer partnered with a hockey card maker.

I was just thinking about how these things I enjoyed as a kid are essentially extinct today. To make these ancient things appealing to today’s kids, I felt a combination of toys and playing cards might draw their attention, sort of like Bakugan.
