Updated Guitar Hero Controller
I used to be a big fan of Guitar Hero/Rock Band. Both games really took the gaming world by storm with their unique and original gameplay. Both franchises also tried to up the ante every year in trying to escalate the game experience for the end user.
But now the franchises are guilty of over-saturating the market in a short time frame, and with not much in the way of innovative new gameplay, the fanbase has started to stay away from the newer releases.
Instead of being critical of how stagnant the two have become, I have decided to pitch a few ideas that might bring some new life to the games:
First. a major change in the key peripheral:
It features a sliding button panel which amplifies gameplay. Now the placement of the ‘notes’ adds another dimension. I also added a few more buttons for combos and specific notes, and the purple button is intended to mimic a ‘Slide Guitar’, which will act like another whammy of sorts.
The onscreen gameplay will look something like this:
(More likely to be in a perspective view)
And it doesn’t have to stop at the guitar. Here are a few more ideas to help revitalize the guitar games:
cowbelling or autotune), that enables people to play guitar/drums and
sing- so everyone could be Phil Collins or Eric Clapton.
gameplay- though I believe there are aftermarket pedals already in existence.
in a drumstick, the drummer could do some drumstick spinning for an Overdrive
bonus- heck everyone does it. Okay a bit far-fetched.

Add more seats to an NHL rink!
I thought of this because I am often amazed that so much prime seating is sacrificed to allow passage for the Zamboni (don’t get me started on goal judges).
The seats would be in a normal tiered configuration
Then the seats would be hydraulically lifted.
There would be some kind of alert system for the fans. They would be able to navigate the seating 100% of the time. The elevating and descent of the seats would be a slow transition.
The only safety concern I see is fans sticking their arms underneath the raised platform. Some form of partition could be used.

CG Comic for Transformers!
I love Transformers. I love to build 3D models and animate. So why not apply these talents towards a comic? It is not unprecedented. I was nearly hired to compose someone else’s 3D comic, but that fell through. Basically, you model, texture, rig, and pose, then render frame by frame. You have to build characters and environments in 3D. You can do some post in Photoshop.
The numerous Styles that can be used for Bulkhead here.
Once you pose your character, you light and place your camera and render it out. Almost like a film production. The one benefit is you don’t have to draw the same character over and over again. It does take time to build, texture, and rig characters. Rigging is applying animate-able characteristics to a static object. Basically applying joints (skeleton) and deformers like muscles and face blends. It’s not unlike a Pixar or Video Game character.
You spin me right round baby right round...
Bulkhead here only took a few hours to model. The ideal look would be to add a Toon Shader, which minimizes gradients into a few solid colours. A Toon Outline is also applied, to give it that cel-shaded look. This applies outlines to the object’s silhouette edge, creases, and intersection lines. You’ve seen this effect in a few video games and tv shows.
Added some colour…
Bulkhead 3D now in Colour!
Jazz, now in 3D. But in a 2D medium. Youknowhutimean.

New Camera for NHL goals
Despite all the broadcast cameras, and the number of referees and officials in any given NHL game, sometimes a legit goal slips through the cracks. The problem? The puck is obscured by the goalie or other players. The solution? Bury a camera under some clear ice by the goal line. Observe:
Transparent ice. A window into the goal.
There would be two cameras placed to get the best vantage point. Also a light or two to help illuminate the Puck.
The view from one of the cameras.
As seen from behind.
