In the past few years Kintaro and RetroFlag have released a bunch of Nintendo-inspired cases for the Raspberry Pi 3, and they are all pretty darn impressive (personally I’m holding out for a Sega Genesis version). Thought I would design a case for the tiny Raspberry Pi Zero based on the R.O.B. toy.

Sneaker Basketball Arcade Machine
This basketball arcade cabinet is styled after a shoe, the Air Jordan 5, because of its mesh sides. This could also be purposed into a desktop toy as well.
Forgive the presentation, the net would actually be lower and there would be a scoreboard above the net, but it was tough to keep everything in frame. There would also be a protective net between the basket and the shooter.
This would go nicely with the other rec room designs I’ve posted here.
Bubble Hockey Snow Globe
Now that the NHL has a few outdoor games every season, this trinket makes sense. The stand even makes it easier to shake! Sadly you can’t play with it.
Reminds me of that Pocket Rod Hockey toy that came out a few decades ago, which is playable. Not sure how good a game can be between two people, but I want one.
Fix It Felix Jr. Mini Tool Set
This Fix It Felix Jr. idea began as a full-size arcade cabinet that stored a tool chest and tool organizer (may post that design one day soon), but I felt a mini tool set would have wider appeal, so I went with that here. This is a functional mini arcade game that doubles as a case for a set of tools.
This opens up like a book to reveal the tools. It’s possible for the arcade to emit the phrase “I can fix it!” when opening the case, but that might get annoying after awhile.
The tools are for gadget-minded folks, no hammers or wrenches here. Included are a pair of pliers, wire cutters, wire strippers, precision screwdrivers, and more. I know the character used a hammer, but that would’ve made this too big.
Cobra HISS Tank Tiny House
This is the last Tiny House design, I promise. I realized that people with the means to build an elaborate geeky-themed tiny house probably wouldn’t seek out this frugal way of life to begin with. So I’ll close out the series with this Cobra H.I.S.S. Tank design.
Wayne’s World Tabletop Hockey
I’ve been thinking about how it would be fun to have a mini 1 vs 1 tabletop hockey set, with a single shooter squaring off against a goalie. There was no interesting way to showcase that concept until I thought of Wayne’s World, specifically the scene where Wayne and Garth are playing street hockey.
Kevin Smith Tabletop Hockey
Here is a tabletop hockey set design that pays homage to the rooftop hockey scene from Clerks. The building facade is on both sides of the rink, the Quick Stop signs are score markers, and the players are decked out in Kevin Smith hockey jerseys.
The players should be wearing shorts and sneakers, so apologies for not being completely accurate here. All the View Askew characters, like Jay and Silent Bob, would be illustrated as players too.
If you look at center ice you’ll see they are using an orange street ball, but it is encased in a clear plastic puck (an idea for anyone who wants to make street hockey tabletops).
Like everyone else I am glad Kevin survived his health scare last week, here’s hoping he makes films well into his 80’s like Clint Eastwood.
