Apple is currently in the middle of killing iTunes, thought I’d commemorate this grim occasion by putting together a Bluetooth speaker design. I felt reincarnating iTunes in the form of a jukebox would be appropriate.
Toy Chest That Transforms Into A Playset
I attempted this design a year or so ago, but when I finished it the thing looked like a deathtrap so I shelved it, and opted to post this instead. This time I took child safety into consideration (for once) and made a super-simple toy chest that transforms into a playset.
Bank Key Card Design
This is a bank key that would be used in places where evil skimmers are usually found, like ATMs and gas pumps. It has a number of security features beyond its key shape. Do check it out after the jump!
Spaceballs The Neon Lamp
This started as a neon pub sign, but I liked how it looked on a stand so I went with the lamp approach. It would look a lot better if the two characters were vinyl figures, but I just wanted to get the idea across.
Microsoft Clippy Floating Pen
Microsoft is a relatively unknown company, and they need lots of help raising brand awareness. So I designed this promotional item to help get the word out! This is one of those ‘floating pens’ which contain a sliding image that moves up and down the pen. See it in action after the jump.
Windows XP NUC PC Design
NUCs are a popular line of mini PC’s (not to be confused with Nucks, which is the nickname of a terrible hockey team), and I thought I’d make one look like the shutdown prompt from Windows XP, of all things.
Truth is, I thought about including some of these design cues in the previous post, even a Start button from the taskbar would be thrown in. Decided to nix the idea, because I was already trying to convey so much information. In the end, I think it works great as this PC case design.
If you Google NUCs you will notice a sea of grey boxes. I think there’s room for a more colorful and lively design like the one above, if you ask me.
Space Cadet Pinball Handheld Device
This is handheld gaming device in the same vein as that Oregon Trail handheld that came out a few years ago. It features a 16:9 LCD screen, making this device the size of a small smartphone. It is held like a Game Boy, featuring 2 buttons on the front to control the paddles, and an analog nub in the middle to control the pinball shooter/plunger.
