Comic Book Panel Shelves
Yet another comic book shelf/display, however this is a very simple concept: the end result looks like panels in a comic book page. This is made possible by using shelves with vertical dividers, populated by comic book holders with images on the ‘spines’ to form the panel art.
To take it a step further, a cabinet door with a comic book cover can be placed on the front:
With or without the door the shelf would make for a neat display for your comics! Especially if you have a lot of single comics (as opposed to trade paperback books).
One note: it’s probably not that apparent, but I made small slots on the comic book holders so they can be pried from the shelf.

Sonic The Hedgehog Mailbox
A few years back I was going to post a few “geeky mailbox” designs but I got sidetracked and completely forgot about them. I recently played Sonic The Hedgehog and remembered this particular design using the checkpoint (aka “Star Post”) from the game.
This design is for my American neighbors, seeing as Canada’s residential mailboxes are being put out to pasture. Canada Post is run by a bunch of hosers, eh!
Initially I thought the Star Post would be cool for a lamp or outdoor lamp post design, however the bulb’s red and blue colors aren’t exactly friendly for illumination. I do think it would be awesome for a beer tap or gear shifter though.

Toy Story Claw Crane Lamp
Here is a lamp design based on the claw crane game from the first Toy Story film, and it features a “captured” alien that you pull to turn the light on or off. It is the silliest thing I have ever posted.
The mockup above is on the small side to get the idea across, however I would prefer a large lamp populated by many alien dudes. You could even make the lower half a table, and the top half the lamp, if you get my drift. Either way a larger lamp would look closer in scale to its onscreen counterpart (which looks exactly like this, except it has glass partition supporting the top part of the rocket).
Bonus idea: originally I thought the captive-alien-in-a-claw would work as a necklace/pendant, similar to the Zelda design from a few months back.

Jaws Scent Bottle
Here’s a fun design: a Jaws-branded cologne or perfume. There aren’t too many geeky scents out there, so why not? I imagine this would have a pleasant ocean or sea-breeze scent, as I doubt anyone would want to smell like chum.
Fans of the film will recognize what’s going on here, but for those who don’t know: the cap/pump is the yellow buoy that was tethered to the shark in the film; the hose extending from the pump looks like the rope used for the tether, and it appears to be attached to a shark at the bottom of the bottle. The glass bottle features a wavy design to look like water, the shark fin is part of the bottle too.
I went with a conventional bottle design here, otherwise I’d make it look closer to a gas container, with an angled buoy to give it the appearance of being towed by a shark.

Ghostbusters Sign Blu-Ray Case
Sony released a 30th Anniversary Blu-Ray Edition for Ghostbusters last week, and it features a statue of Slimer and the Ghostbusters logo. I can’t tell if that Slimer statue is dirty, or if I have a dirty mind. Anyways, I would’ve just made a snap case from the Ghostbusters sign:
At almost 1.5″ thick, there is plenty of room in this case for additional discs, booklets, and even batteries and LED lights for a light-up feature. I’d also include mounts on the spine so you can hang it on the wall like a clock, allowing this case to function like the actual Ghostbusters sign.

Adventure Time Syrup, Independent Thought Alarm Button
A few weeks ago Adventure Time featured some “Canadian Maple Syrup” guards (they hail from the Breakfast Kingdom), and as a Canadian I thought they were hilarious. I mean, they were standing on guard fer crêpes sake.
Anyways I think it would be awesome if a maple syrup company produced a collectors bottle to look like this character. Granted, the dude is a throwaway gag, but I still want one.
I was in my neighborhood Staples recently (What? Even us lowly bloggers need practical office solutions), when I saw their famous Easy Button gag gift, which is a button that serves no function. So I thought if I wanted a geeky non-functioning button on my desk, it would be the Independent Thought Alarm from The Simpsons.
Sure it could be wired up to something or make a buzz sound when pressed, but I’d be happy with a plain trinket that I’d park on my desk. I feel it would be a hit with teachers and other people in positions of authority (bosses or supervisors).
I’ve been looking at electrical switch boxes and press buttons for a DIY version, so stay tuned for news on that.

RCKY T-Shirt Solicitation
UPDATE: My first foray into crowdfunding has ended, and the Teespring campaign to offer these t-shirts did not reach its goal. I’m bummed because people tell me all the time to Kickstart this or Indiegogo that! Oh well, them’s the brakes. Obviously I won’t be attempting to crowdfund apparel items again, mostly because there’s so many outlets for that kind of merch online.
