X-Men Collection Blu-Ray Stand
You read that right: this is a stand, not the usual case design I tend to post here. Because there are so many X-Men Blu-Ray/DVD releases (standalone and box sets), I felt I should put together a design to show off the mutant superhero movies you already have.
This stand is similar to a bookend, only inserted into the middle of your Blu-Ray library for dramatic effect. The clear plastic (or glass) stand would give the illusion that several Blu-Rays are being levitated by Magneto*, who also appears to be floating in midair.
If it were up to me I’d sell this with only Days of Future Past, the rest of the films you’d have to supply yourself. Thanks to the bookend nature of this design, it is future-proof; you can place all of the future X-Men films adjacent to the stand. Read the rest of this entry

Attack On Titan Pendant
Yesterday I posted a Zelda pendant, and in that post I mentioned my original intention was to make a design based on Attack On Titan. I’ve gotten quite a few responses asking about the discarded AoT design, so I decided to share the mock-up.
In the Zelda post I sort of implied that the 3D Maneuvering Gear would be used as the chain in some way, but I was probably a bit vague in my wording. My bad.
The reason I went with Zelda is that it would be more compact and, well, cute (I’m keeping my man card, thank-you). I felt AoT would be a bit too busy, despite the fun aspect of turning its wearer into a titan of sorts.
If this were actually made, I’d put the swords back in their sheaths to make this pendant less pointy.

Zelda Hookshot Pendant
A pendant of Link with his trusty hookshot serving as a chain, what’s not to like? It’s a lot friendlier than my original idea, which was based on Attack On Titan (where you are the titan). You could probably do a standalone hookshot necklace, but the addition of the character truly completes this design. Read the rest of this entry

Sonic The Hedgehog Bike Rack
Here is a bike rack design based on Sonic The Hedgehog losing a bunch of gold rings to injury. Sonic’s misfortune would be a great place to park your bicycle!
This rack would give the illusion that Sonic was running along the nearby sidewalk or pathway just prior to running into trouble here. Also a few Sonic games had levels set in a city environment, so this would be replicating a game level in real life somewhat.
All the rings are perfectly round, however they would be placed at an angle to look like their oval-shaped video game counterparts. Also they would be aligned in rows to help with accessibility:
This design features only ten rings, but you could easily scatter 2 or 3 dozen around our hero. As long as a few rings are raised off the ground (at varying heights) for a dynamic scene that is true to the video games. Sonic himself would be a standee, but if you want to get really fancy a statue could be used instead.
If no bikes are present this would function nicely as an art installation too, something that is becoming more and more commonplace.

Geeky Custom Deskpads
A few weeks ago my friends at ES Robbins (the makers of the excellent NHL 94 chair mat) asked me to try out their new website for custom deskpads and chair mats. The timing of this was freaky because I was in the market for a deskpad, thanks to the keyboard scratching up my desk surface.
I opted to upload my own design, but it took me several days to decide on what I wanted on my deskpad. Did I want an 8-bit NHL rink? The world map from Avatar: The Last Airbender? A RISK gameboard? A map of Middle Earth or Westeros? A giant Magic: The Gathering playing card? The control panel from the bridge of the Enterprise-D? My detailed plans for world conquest? And on and on.
